Jacob Oram took 2nd hat-trick of the Twenty20 and guided New Zealand to a thrilling victory against Sri lanka in the 1st Twenty20 game on September 2nd, 2009 at Colombo.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first managed 141 run for 8 wickets in 20 overs as only Ross Taylor scored a fighting 60 runs. Lasith Malinga took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
In reply, Sri Lanka started well by in-form batsman Tilakratne Dilshan who scored 28 balls 57 runs with 8 fours and 2 sixes but tight bowling by captain Daniel Vettori took 2 wickets for just 11 runs and Jacob Oram's hat-trick secured a close 3 run victory for visitors.
Daniel Vettori got Man of the Match for his economical bowling.
