Paine's century helps Australia crush England by 111 runs in 6th ODI

Australia continues their good run in the 7 match ODI series and moving towards no.1 ranking as they beat England by a big margin of 111 runs exactly the same runs scored by wicket keeper batsman Tim Paine's in his maiden century on September 17, 2009 at Trent Bridge.

Australia made 296 runs in 50 overs as Tim Paine scored his maiden ODI century with 111 runs well supported by Michael Hussey with 65 runs. England bowled out on 185 runs in 41 overs as the highest scored was 31 not out by Brensan. James Hopes took 3 wickets for 32 runs.

Ponting's century guides Australia to win 5th ODI against England, lead the series 5-0

Ricky Ponting hit his 27th ODI century and guides Australia to a comfortable 4 wickets win win against England in 5th ODI and takes a 5-0 lead in the 7 match series on Tuesday, September 15th at Trent Bridg, Nottingham.

England put their best performance so far in the 7 match ODI series with 299 all out in 50 overs with good contribution from Strauss 35, Denly 45, Prior 37 and half century by Morgan with 58 runs took them to a very competetive total.

In reply Australia after loosing test top ranking trying hard to get on top in ODI's with a 7-0 white wash. Ricky Poting hit his 27th one day century with 126 of 109 deliveries guided Australia to a 4 wickets win with 10 balls remaining and well supported by his deputy Michael Clarke with 52 runs.

Australia 302 for 6 (Ponting 126, Clarke 52) beat England 299 (Morgan 58) by four wickets with 10 balls remaining.

Cameron White's century helps Australia beat England in 3rd ODI - 3rd ODI Photo Highlights

A maiden one day hundred by Cameron White helps Australia to win the 3rd ODI by 6 wickets with 9 balls remaining on Wednesday, September at Rose Bowl. This is Australia's 3rd consecutive win over England as they took a comfortable lead of 3-0 in 7 match series.

England won the toss and elected to bat first put 41 runs for the 1st wicket but 3 wickets for 20 runs put them on back foot and wickets at regular intervals restricted them to 228 for 9 in 50 overs. Shane Watson took 3 wickets for 36 runs.

Australia got a slow start as they were 52-2 in 14 overs but 143 runs 3rd wicket partnership between Cameron White (105 runs of 124 balls with 9 fours and a six) and sheet anchor inning of 52 runs of 92 balls with just 1 four by captain Michael Clarke guided Australia for a six wicket win.


Match Summary:

Australia 230 for 4 (White 105, Clarke 52) beat England 228 for 9 (Strauss 63, Watson 3-36) by six wickets.

Australia beat England in 2nd ODI - Mitchell Johnson lifts Australia, 2nd ODI Photo Highlights

A brilliant performance by Mitchell Johnson who was almost on the verge of being dropped for the first half of the ashes series stunned the critics with a stupendous batting performance to lead Australia to a respectable score of 249 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Johnson scored 43 quick runs in just 23 balls and blasted away towards the end of the innings with 5 glorious boundaries. He also went ahead took 2 wickets that of Morgan and Bresnan to claim a man of the match award.

Australia lead the ODI series 2-0 thanks to Mitchell Johnson magical performance.

Australia beat England by 4 runs in 1st ODI - Ferguson hit half century

In a thrilling 1st ODI Australia beat England by 4 run on Friday, September 4, at The Oval. Australia made 260/5 in 50 overs while Emgland made 256/8 in 50 overs. Adil Rashid tried hard with 23 balls 31 runs gone in vain.

Australia invited to bat 1st got a slow start but Cameron White and Callum Ferguson hit half centuries with 53 and unbeaten 71 runs respectively helped them to recover. Hussey and Hopes hit quick runs in the end and the total to 260/5 in 50 overs.

For England, Ravi Bopra back in form with 49 runs but wickets at regular intervals kept them below required run rate which proved crucial in the end. Adil Rashid hit 23 balls 31 runs but unable to finish the game.
