Virender Sehwag scored 18 runs in a Kulasekara over to score his 6th double century. Awesome batting display by the Najabgad Express. The Delhi Dasher scored his second hundred in just 64 balls which is amazing in terms of a Test score.

His opener partner M Vijay also had a splendid 87 runs but unfortunately missed out on his maiden century

Virender Sehwag earlier refused leading the national team as a captain, has now stepped down from the captaincy of Delhi Daredevil on the eve of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament. He recommended Gautam Gambhir to be the suitable leader who would be replacing him as the captain to lead the DD team into the tournament. Sehwag said "I would like to thank GMR [the franchise owners] for their understanding in accepting my request to step down. Personally, I would like to concentrate on my own batting and contribute to the team."

Sehway recommends Gautam Gambhir as his successor saying "Gautam did a great job of captaining Delhi and also during IPL 2 in South Africa this year, He has shown very good leadership skills and will bring fresh energy into the Delhi Daredevils."

Virendra Sehwag not interested in captaining India

Viru who is least interested in the captaincy has a strong desire to play well for the country and score more and more runs and not get bogged down by the vice captaincy or captaincy issue. He has requested the selectors to remove him from the VC position and groom some new face for a longer run. He spoke to a news channel yesterday saying: "I don't want to be a captain, I have already told the selectors about it. I have said that a new player should be made vice-captain and be groomed to be a captain," he also said "I want that I should continue to score runs and keep winning matches for the team."

Sehwag was given the vice captaincy position when Rahul Dravid took over as Captain from Saurav Ganguly.
