Brett Lee and Irfan Pathan bowled beautifully and secured a must win for Kings XI Punjab by 6 wickets in the 46th game of 2009 IPL against title favorite Delhi Daredevils on Friday.
Brett Lee was the pick of the bowlers as took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs to restrict points leader Delhi Daredevils to mere 120/9 in 20 overs. Only Dinesh karthik scored 32 runs.
In reply, Kumara Sngakkar batted sensibly on a very difficult pitch for batting with 43 unbeaten runs and a fiery 21 runs in just 11 balls with 3 huge sixes in the end put them home to stay alive their hope for the semi-finals.
