Munaf Patel star in 2 runs win for Rajasthan over Mumbai

In a nail biting 45th match of IPL, with Mumbai Indian requiring only 4 runs of the last over, Munaf Patel bowled a superb last over, giving away just 2 runs with 1 wicket and 2 run-outs to seal a 2 runs victory for defending champion Rajasthan Royals over Mumbai Indians on Thursday at Durban.

Rajasthan Royals playing under captain Shane Warne (who was a doubtful starter due to a hamstring injury), scored 145 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs as new batsman Rob Quiney made 51 runs off 40 balls and Ravindar Jadeja contributed 42 runs.

In reply, Mumbai Indians started badly but Sachin Tendulkar played a crucial inning of 40 runs off 30 balls guided them near the target before Abhishek Nayar hit a fiery 18 balls 35 runs but tailenders crumbled under pressure and didn't manage to score 4 runs in th last over.

Rajasthan Royal's climb up the ladder to 3rd position in the ranking chart.
