The 15 member team lead by MS Dhoni is keen to get the trophy home and climb up the ladder in the ODI rankings. Virendra Sehwag not interested in captaining India

Viru who is least interested in the captaincy has a strong desire to play well for the country and score more and more runs and not get bogged down by the vice captaincy or captaincy issue. He has requested the selectors to remove him from the VC position and groom some new face for a longer run. He spoke to a news channel yesterday saying: "I don't want to be a captain, I have already told the selectors about it. I have said that a new player should be made vice-captain and be groomed to be a captain," he also said "I want that I should continue to score runs and keep winning matches for the team."

Sehwag was given the vice captaincy position when Rahul Dravid took over as Captain from Saurav Ganguly.

Sachin Tendulkar says Sehwag comes closest to his style of batting | Sachin aims for 15K runs in Test

Excerpts of an interview given by Sachin Tendulkar to Wisden Cricketer reveals that Sachin has a desire to reach 15,000 runs in Test cricket as Sunil Gavaskar requested him to do so and also would be unhappy if he didn’t manage to get the runs to reach that landmark. Excerpts also reveals that he is not very pleased with the comments by John Buchanan about Sachin unable to handle the short deliveries, and justified himself by saying that John need not be correct always, and he needs to correct himself in saying so as if he (Sachin) has problems facing the short pitch deliveries than why has he been scoring heavily against the top bowlers in world cricket.

He also mentioned in his interview that Sehwag is the closest one who has reached to his caliber in terms of batting style.
