20 20 World Cup Finals, Pakistan v Sri Lanka, Finals ICC T20 World Cup on 21 June 2009

The last two World cups have been experiencing an all Asia clashes, where last ICC 20 20 World cup was between India and Pakistan, where India emerged winners and this time around Pakistan again making it to the finals looking seem to be favourites and lifting the trophy.

Netherlands defeat England in a thriller - ICC T20 World Cup opens with a surprise

Shocking defeat for host England at the hands of Netherlands, one of the weaker sides considered in international cricket. England placed in a tight situation with a must win situation against Pakistan. 

The summary of the match:

England started very well with both the openers Ravi Bopara continuing his good batting form scoring 46 runs while his partner Luke Wright with a brilliant 71 runs was the star performer for England. 

England went ahead to score 162 for 5 (Wright 71, Bopara 46) 

A dream win for Netherlands (Holland) in this ICC T20 World Cup. de Grooth of Netherlands blazed with the bat scoring an invaluable 49 runs to guide the team to victory. The middle order also gave vital support with some valuable knocks by P Borren (30 of 25 balls) and RN ten Doeschate ( 22 of 17 balls).

In the 1st match of ICC T20 World Cup 2009, The home team England play with Netherlands (Holland) on Friday, 5th June, 2009 at Lord's, London starting from 16.30 GMT, 10.00PM IST.

England won their warm up match over West Indies who scored only 144 runs which was chased down well by England in only 14.4 overs. England got a new opening pair in Luke Wright and Ravi Bopara who played for the Kings XI Punjab team in the IPL and has been in good form since then which he displayed in the warm up game.
