Ricky Ponting has been pondering on the option of continuing further with his ODI and Test career and thus has retired from the shorter version of cricket i.e. 20 20 International cricket.
Ponting said in a statement yesterday : “After much thought and careful consideration I have advised Cricket Australia of my decision to retire from international Twenty20 cricket”.
Anyways Ponting will continue to fulfil his Indian Premier League contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders and will also be available for Tasmania in the domestic Twenty20 competition. Ponting has played 17 Twenty20 internationals till date and his first t20 score of 98 that he scored remains the second highest score.
