Last ball win for South Africa against New Zealand - Photo Highlights

A tough duel by the top charters of Group D, where South Africa managed to secure a win by one run. South Africa defending a low score of 127 / 5 wickets with a very tight line and length bowling by newcomer Roelof van der Merwe of his spin bowling. Roelof van der Merwe gave away a miserly 14 runs of his 4 overs and also scalped two important wickets that of Brendan McCullum and Ross Taylor.

McCullum was the only player who went on to show some resistance against the South African bowling unit scoring 57 of 54 ball but rest of his team mates didn’t give him enough support to chase the low score.

A tight finish at the end helped South Africa take away the thriller.

A brief synopsis of the match:
South Africa 128 for 7 (Smith 33, Butler 2-13) beat New Zealand 127 for 5 (McCullum 57, van der Merwe 2-14) by one run
