Sanath Jayasurya blazed Sri Lanka to a 15 run win with enormous score of 81 runs of 47 balls. The opening partnership took away the match from West Indies. With both the openers scoring more than 70 runs and having a partnership of 124 runs in this format of a game means a huge score is on plate. Sri Lanka went ahead to score 192 runs against a Gayle minus team with a in experienced captain in Ramdin. West Indies were to blame themselves due to their sloppy fielding which they will require improvement to perform well in the Super Eight round of the ICC T20 World Cup.
The West Indies batting line up did manage to get some runs on the board in the absence of their captain and hard hitter Chris Gayle. They managed to reach 177 for 5 wickets with Bravo leading the flosk and other contributing with 10’s and 20’s. Being a dead rubber it had been a competitive game of Twenty 20 cricket.
